Senior Treatment Program

The Senior Treatment Program (STP) specializes in the care and stabilization of patients over the age of 50 who are experiencing acute psychiatric and behavioral symptoms related to mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder as well as thought disorders, including schizophrenia and disorders with psychotic features. Comprehensive assessment and treatment is provided in a safe and nurturing environment by employing a multidisciplinary team approach.

Like the Adult Treatment Program, the Senior Treatment Program helps individuals regain safety and stability in their mental health through medication management and group therapy in the Treatment Mall, while also acknowledging the unique physical, developmental, and social needs of an aging adult. To ensure success in their recovery beyond their hospitalization, patients are provided with assistance in setting up appropriate follow up care, including psychiatric outpatient care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing when needed.

Memory Care Program

The Memory Care Program (MCP) offers acute inpatient behavioral health services to patients facing dementia or other psychiatric disorders impairing memory, judgment and behavior. Individualized care is provided based on patients’ current stage in their progression of dementia using the GEMS classification system developed by world-renowned dementia specialist, Teepa Snow. With this approach, patients are assessed for the traits and skills that still endure despite the presence of dementia, and therapeutic interventions are thus planned accordingly by a multidisciplinary team to maximize a patients’ current level of functioning, tailoring care to individual personality, physiological needs and mental aptitude.
